About Hofstede's 6-D Model
Geert Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory describes the effects of a society's culture on the values of its members. The model uses six dimensions to compare national cultures: Power Distance (PDI), Individualism (IDV), Masculinity (MAS), Uncertainty Avoidance (UAI), Long-Term Orientation (LTO) and Indulgence (IVR).
Power Distance (PDI)
The degree to which less powerful members of a society accept and expect unequal power distribution. High PDI societies accept hierarchical order; low PDI societies question authority and strive for equal distribution of power.
